TEHRAN (IRNA) -- Head of the Islamic Culture and Communications Organization Hojjatoleslam Mahmud Mohammadi Araqi said here that peaceful coexistence among the followers of major divine religions in Iran can serve as a model for others.

Araqi told a group of Muslim and Christian scholars that regrettably, there are hostile hands at work to use all media facilities to insinuate rights of religious minorities were violated in Iran.
He said Iran officially recognizes major divine religions and the religious minorities in the country are free to perform their religious rituals.
He went on to say that he believed dialogue among followers of divine religions can be helpful for peace, freedom and salvation of mankind.
Leaders of divine religions can through dialogues serve as a model for policy makers and in turn the politicians can through mutual cooperation strive for prosperity of mankind
